Email Burden
The 4-day work-week seems to be working quite well. I have been hovering around 45 hours per week versus my usual 60 hours. It has really allowed me to focus more on project when I am in the office; since I have less time for meetings, I'm in less meetings... which is one of the more time wasting parts of my week.
The only thing that continues to be a problem is email. The volume of email that requires a deep response or action is still high. I'm starting to think that this is the point where we need more staff. We need either someone to handle the processing or someone to handle to billable hours that the email produces. I just cannot come up with a way to reduce the email load or speed up the process... so it must be time for help, right?
Other than the email burden, all other aspects of the business seem to be running better. I didn't think this would work out so well; I'm quite impressed.
