Day 5
After five days in Chicago, I am ready to go home. I miss my wife, my home, and my ocean.
After five days in Chicago, I am ready to go home. I miss my wife, my home, and my ocean.
Today is my last day of working on this project. Everything is going pretty smooth thus far. I hope it continues to do such. It is very important that everything gets completed today... it is probably going to be a long day.
I saw the new Apple G5 tonight. I know what it would look like... but I did not realize that it would so much larger than the G4. It really is about 130% larger. It is almost too big. I did notice that it runs super quiet and ice cold.
I also saw the 17 inch laptop from Apple. I have always wanted one until I picked it up. It weighs a ton. It would be a nice desktop replacement, it would not be an ideal laptop for daily carrying around. It is also too big. The 12 inch however, was awesome.
Early to rise.. and early to bed. That is how the saying goes, correct? I am tired... it is 10p... sounds good enough to me.
I am up too early that is for sure. I only got about 4 hours of sleep... after the thunder storm. Wanna talk about crazy lightning?
I got a double dose of delays thanks to bad weather. Not fun. Hours of my life sucked away.
And the race is on... I have a lot to do before I go off this weekend. A lot.
I am sure that it was Friday. What happened?
Feeling at bit sluggish... ever since I got off work last night. I just cannot shake it. I am not sure if I am tired or what. I felt like I got a good rest. My mind is sorta on other things... which might be it as well.
Has a nice ring to it, right? I am actually feeling a bit more like a slave than a king these days. The things I have to do are swallowing my time left and right. Time disappears on its own... it sure doesn't need any help being consumed.
This October, I am going to be 25. I don't think that is old or even nearing old... but I had an alarming thought. If I live to be 75, I have already lived a third of my life. I can only hope that the next two-thirds don't go by nearly as fast... and that I use my future better than I have used my fast.
I am a person that is plagued with wanting to do the right thing. I wish that every step I make was in a direction that brings me good fortune and wisdom. I want to use every second and not waste any life.
I am getting closer; I am trying harder... what else can I do?
If the wave is taller than you, it is most likely stronger than you.
This was my weekend lesson. I am still a bit sore from an attempt at body-surfing. I have a great time and the water was not too cold... but the waves were huge and they broke fast... which left me and Todd tumbling with every successful wave catch.
Had a great weekend... and like every great weekend, not enough sleep. I am feeling pretty good today despite my last of rest.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
Started cycling again last night. It has been at least 6 years since I have ridden any distance. Todd and I figure we went a little over 10 miles last night. I was not feeling too grand near the end... or near the middle. My legs felt like rubber and burned like they were on fire. I tough'd it out an made it back to the house.
I am not feeling too bad this morning... but it doesn't usually hit me until the second day. I am going to enjoy walking normal while I still can.
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Lucy. Happy birthday to you. And many more.
I finally got to try the Six Dollar Western Burger. It is hands-down the best fast-food burger ever made. If you have not tried it, go now.
My wife and I took a three day vacation to celebrate her mother's birthday. For us, it was a three day party. For Ong's mom... the surprise party did not start until Saturday night. Bravo to Ong's dad for pulling off a surprise party with 30 people. We we rolled up to the house, I couldn't even tell that there where 30 people hiding inside.. and even after walking into the house... not a clue. Then 30 voices singing "Happy Birthday" from the other room. It was awesome.
It was the best surprise party that I have ever seen. Bravo.
Ong is working three nights a week... so I am forced to feed myself. I am already back to my pre-marriage eating habits. Last night for dinner, I had taquitos, salsa, barbecue sauce, and Flaming Hot Limon Cheetos. Dipping Cheetos is a new favorite snack. Give it a try if you are brave enough.
Ong has a freshly redesigned site. I also designed a site that was not on my list... Mountain Toad. Two sites in one night... not bad.
Only 12 more sites to redesign. No worries, right? By the end of tonight, it should only be 11 more to go. I am making some progress.
This is not something that I would put on my list of fun... and 200 bucks later you get your car back. My advice is to read signs and believe signs. Shame on me.
Before getting my car towed, Todd and I went to the Orange County AIGA Blender... which is always fun. It is good hang out with people from your field.
I am looking forward to a day where I can sleep in. I am just plain tired this week. I am still struggling to get rid of that last bit of a cold. It is hanging on for dear life.
GTM is back online. Yes, it looks the same. There are a few minor tweaks to the undercode. I used the main structure from this site and Sol's site to rebuild all sites in the Mercury Network. This would include DZ's new site, Black Clover.
Reacharound is back... finally. It is not in its final form... but I am happy to see something.
