Happy Thursday from Canada! This will be my second full day in Canada... and my opinion at the moment is that Canada is a lot like the US. I hardly feel like I am in a different country. They have a lot of the same store and places to eat. The accent, the strange money, and the frequent use of the word"aye" is all the is noticeably different.
We are going to be moving hotels tonight. We originally were in a hotel on the other side of the city... it is quite a cab ride, so we will be moving to a hotel just a few blocks from the place that I am working.
Went to the Edmonton Mall... it is a big mall, but not as big as I was thinking it would be. We walked the whole thing in about an hour. I guess that I was not impressed... it was all the same stuff that I can buy back in the US. The exchange rate makes things a little cheaper, but not by enough that would make it so I would be interested. The current exchange rate is 72 Canadian cents to a US dollar.
One strange thing, I went to Tony Roma's for dinner... this is a place that I go to back in the states all the time... they asked me if I wanted gravy... so I asked them for what... and they said my fries. I have never heard of such a thing. Apparently this is something popular in Australia as well... or so says my Australian partner.
