Blue Monday

I cannot believe that Monday is here again. The weekend just flew by. Ong and I got a lot done and had a good time as well... it just went by so very quick.

This week my company will be relocating. We are only moving about a mile. That should make the move a little easier. I hope.

The End Of The Weekend

Well, we got out to eat a little late. There was a two and a half hour wait to eat at PF Chang's... so we ate at Nara Nara. It is a new mediteranian place at Irvine Spectrum Center. The food was good; the service was not. They look like that may have been their second or third night open, so I am going to cut them some slack... and maybe even make a return visit.

Sunday night, we hung out with some friend and had dinner at their house. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoy getting out.

Saturday

Ong and I have really been getting a lot done today. Feels good to finally be getting somethings out of the way. I feel like we might be nearing the end of the never-ending list. As a reward, we will be dining at PF Chang's tonight.

Work, work, work...

I love my job, but I am so glad that it is the weekend. I need some rest. I have a million projects lined up; I am not going to let them get in the way of a relaxing weekend. I plan to sleep an insane amount this weekend. That is my plan. Productivity is dead this weekend.

Yes, it is time for coffee.

If you would like to contact me at work, I have set up an e-mail address just for that: werc@loungepunk.com.

The Return of Fun & Creativity

Ong and I are going to go through a book called Art & Soul. It is fun and whacky and just a bit on the cheesy side... but all around cool. The book is simply as it states:

Takes readers on a year-long journey into their creative souls, offering a map for finding and expressing the art that dwells there. It encourages readers to recapture their authentic self that many abandoned long ago with their Crayola crayons.
I am really looking forward to going through the book for several reasons: I am tired of being creative and having no fun; I am tired of being creative for others; I think I have lost a part of my own art style and expression; and most of all, it is something fun and whacky to do as a couple.

This week's little task of artistic expression is to make an item that flags you as an artist. They suggest something along the lines of a button or a tie, etc. I decided to make a few t-shirts, which ended up turning out quite nicely. I made one that simply says "artist." and another that says "create or die."... and you know I have to make a Lounge Punk one as well. All the shirts also sport an LP logo on the sleeve. Again, they turned out pretty nice... I just hope they make it through the wash alright.

Ikea

Last night, Ong and I put together our table and chairs from Ikea. One of the seats was cracked... which means I need to go down to Ikea and pick up a new one. Might do that today... should be better than sitting in Friday traffic.

I am working another catering job this weekend. Need the extra money.

Neon

My car has been my major time sucking thing over the past few days. I got a ticket for no front plate... so I had to hunt one down... and painfully buy the mount for it... then find a cop to sign off on it. I also had to take my car into the shop for a recall on the brakes... and catch the shuttle to work. All this making me late for work two days in a row... and if you know me, I hate being late. Everything seems to be okay now... and hopefully will remain such.

I picked up a table and chairs from Ikea last night on the way home (after waiting nine years to get my car back). Ong and I finally have a dining room table... not the best one in the world... but a swanky cheap one. You know it is cheap when you toss the chairs in package deal. Scary.

The LoungePunk Contest below is doing great. I found/made more decals, so keep entering. It is so easy too. No design skills needed.

More posting goodness at TMP.

LP Contest

The first official LoungePunk contest is here... and I must say it is pretty easy. Just send an e-mail to this address: contest@loungepunk.com. The contest instructions will be e-mail to you. Hint: It is better to check it out sooner rather than later.

Daily Routine

I am trying to work blogging back into my daily routine... the largest reason being that I miss it. Keeping a journal is a difficult start... but a fantastic addiction. I have missed my early mornings at the keyboard. It is just a nice time to think and plan... and look around.

I am resuming posting here as well as at Antislacker and TMP. I will be resuming posting at LP as well... just farther down the road. I have a possible new direction to take with that site... a few actually, so I need some more thought there.

It appears that Sol has just gone through quite a recovery... and possibly the loss of a friend? It is the most amount of pure text that I have seen at her site in a long time... it was a welcome sight at first, but turned very sad. (Sidenote: redesign and recode in progress.)

If you are looking to get into the wonderful world of Linux... I have found the site for you. LinuxISO.org appears to be the best place to go for fast downloads of all your favorite distributions of Linux.

Busy... busy... the home is still coming together a great lot of progress has been made. I would say that we have found a nice home for about 60-70% of the stuff that once crowded the living room.

I have a few designs brewing... soon to be released. As well as a sticker give away... keep your eyes open for this one.

I am hoping that Ong and I have converted another Tularian to become an loyal OC citizen. Welcome to the great Orange County, Manda. May you never return home.

Glad to see that ES is finally back online. It has been a long time... in web time that is.

Pay Day

My favorite days of the month. Nothing like a pay check... the stress of bills lifted... the fun of a little extra cash. Why can't everyday be pay day?

Progress

The wedding is over and there is still so much to do. Progress is being made everyday... just does not feel like much of a dent is being made.

A Year Ago Today

The world was already in chaos by this time. I feel better already. I have a good vibe about today... hope that it is not just wishful thinking.

Slow Moving

It takes a few days short of forever to get a home organized. I fear Ong and I will be working at the unpacking until it is time to pack again. We made a lot of progress with the bedroom last night... basically we moved all the furniture and redistributed the rest of the stuff all around the house. The mess appears to just be migrating.

I'm back; I'm married.

I am back online and faster than ever. Ong's apartment is closer to the main line so I am .3mb below a T1 connection now. Woo!

The wedding was great. Thank you in huge ways to all who helped and attended. Massive thanks to: IP, Eddie, Maxson, Debbie & Donnie, Jeanette. Thank you for going beyond the call of duty. Extra massive thanks to Ong's Padres... thank you for having such an awesome daughter... thank you for letting me marry her... and thank you for doing more than your share of work for the wedding.

I have things to do... so messages will be sparse.
