Happy Birthday, J! The old man turned 25 today. Wanna send him an e-mail?

I like this design.

What is your site rated? [link from Derek] Pretty interesting... my sites were not listed so I have to wait until they are.

How long does it take to install Windows 2000? A really long time. I have been doing the install for over two hours... that is a long time. Linux with a reformat took less time. I am just happy that this install worked... or is working. I was not so lucky the last time that I tried it on that machine.

I also scanned over 100 photographs tonight... the sad part is that I am maybe about two-thirds complete... with the scanning. Next I get to reformat and color correct. And finally, dump them all into Final Cut Pro.

In between all the other things that I am/have been doing this evening, I got my new-to-me Palm Pilot Professional working. Pretty neat little toy. It is one of the original Palms... back when Palm was owned by US Robotics. It was the fancy one of its day, so it has just as much memory as my Palm III. What am I going to do with two Palm Pilots? I have no idea... maybe one for games.

Played around a bit more with Linux and Apache... not much progress made there however.

Blair Thumb was released on the 26th... I got my copy in the mail today. It is the funniest of the Thumb series by far... just my opinion. If you need a good laugh, I suggest purchasing it. The DVD has a bunch of funny extra, so if you are lucky enough to have a DVD player... go that route.

I think Windows 2000 is officially installed. I thought that I would never see it happen. Amazing. Finally, I can go to bed.

Fifteen minutes until I have to depart... and fifteen minutes to get a lot done.

I have two urgent projects on my list this week (eDevCafe Newsletter and a small video project). These two are the focus for the next couple/several days. After these, I have listed my desired projects... all I have to do now is organize them. Eek.

As usual, I have a million and one smaller projects. I will be knocking those out as well. More slowly than normal... I am tired of them sucking up my time.

Slept well... even overcoming my desire to stay home all day.

I don't know why, but it feels like a Friday night... I am going to be disappointed to have to work in the working.

Good morning world. Yesterday was rainy... today is bright and sunny... it just looks beautiful. My camera will be by my side today. Just plain beautiful out there.

Running late this morning, so I have to rush.

January 27, 2002

Time to go shopping. Heh heh.

Blogger Pro has been released. Just in general support of Blogger, I am going to be upgrading. Some of the new features are something that I have been wanting for a long time.

Got up early this morning (around 7am). It was freezing. Yesterday and last night was fairly warm... but it is cold now. I can hardly feel my fingers. Brr.

I almost bought a laptop last night. It is exactly what I have been looking for... and the price is right. I am going to go down and takea look at it again today. Plus, a few other laptops are to be going on sale today. I may wait a few more months before buying a laptop... I just want the perfect one.

Well... it is about time to look at my project list... and start working on it.

Smiling is a good thing.

Saw Kung Pow again last night... also saw Vanilla Sky... it was fun to stay out and watch a couple of movies. May have to try that a bit more often. Maybe once a month or so.

The norm... I am working on a bunch of projects... so it is another busy weekend. I am trying to take all my projects at a more relaxed pace... seems to be working out so far. I only have about 6 free projects on the board right... after those are complete, it is going to be a long time before I take on any more... I need to start paying more attention to the bills and stocking up cash for when I go back to school.

January 25, 2002

Today is sponsored by Red Bull... the official drink of iDidnotGetEnoughSleep, Inc.. I cannot express how tired I am right now... if I make it through the day without passing out, it will be amazing.

Went and saw a screening of Kung Pow last night. I thought that it was very funny... and I might be going back to see it tonight. It is a movie that you will love or hate... I cannot see a middle ground. And yes, I am wearing my Kung Pow t-shirt today... with pride.

Back to blogging again.

I have been insanely busy... but it looks that it is over for a short spell. The projects in the future look a lot more bite-sized. I am very glad for this... I am tired of working myself to death. I would just like to work myself into progress.

I had a great time with my Aunt here this past weekend. Thanks to her visit, I know have an annual pass to Sea World.

Today is a special day... I hope it is a happy one.

January 17, 2002

My room is starting to look like a room... instead of a pile of boxes... my living room now looks like a pile of boxes. The plus is that the boxes are now empty.

Tomorrow night is clean the house and do laundry. Yay.

Late.

January 16, 2002

So much to do and so little time. It is going to be late nights all this week, but it will all be worth it. I need to have stress free fun thsi weekend.

This is not the week for sleep.

January 15, 2002

This is too neat for words.

January 14, 2002

Today was just strange three people called in sick to work today. Needless to say we were a bit shot-handed; however, I got a lot of stuff done... more than normal even. I did 11.25 hours of work in my normal 8 hour shift. I pretty much cleared the schedule for the next few days.

Didn't eat until about 7.30p today. Just wasn't hungry. Happens every so often.

This one is for Final Cut Pro users. It is a quick fix for getting Photoshop layer effects to carry over into FCP.

Had a busy yet good weekend. Did a lot of extra work... so I have a bit of extra cash. Payday is tomorrow... which means I no longer have to worry about paying the bills. A less stress week already.

My favorite Aunt is going to be flying out to visit me, so it is time to super clean the house.

Right now... I am off to he bank and then off to work.

You know you want to build your own web-server. This article makes it look pretty easy.

Go, Ang. Heh heh.

Getting back at corporations:

When you get ads in your phone or utility bill, include them with the payment. Let them throw it away. Think globally, act locally.

When you get those pre-approved letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and junk like that, most of them come with postage paid return envelopes, right? Well, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little envelopes!

Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Or a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their application back! Just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them. You can send it back empty if you want to just to keep 'em guessing!

Keep our postal service busy since they say e-mail is cutting into their business, and that's why they need to increase postage again!

January 11, 2002

Friday... thank goodness. I need a break from my job.

I have a long list of work to do this weekend. I am going to trim it down a bit when make my list today. Things that are making it on the list for sure is stuff for eDevCafe, MediaTongue, TMP, and GTM.

I am looking forward to getting something done.

January 10, 2002

Work is painful these days. I am not sure how I make it through the day without killing myself or anyone else. Some people could use a few classes... and maybe learn to do what they think they are doing. I should just be thankful that I still have my hair. Heh.

Special thanks to IP for the quote: " The man who tries to do something and fails is infinitely better than he who tries to do nothing and succeeds."

It is really beautiful outside today... the sun is out. It has been awhile since the sun has peaked out this early. If I didi not have to go to work, I would be out there taking photos. The light is just perfect.

Thursday already. I am happy... and shocked, where did the week go? This week was a quick one.

January 09, 2002

Slept a long time last night (at least more than normal). Felt good... still feeling tired, but feeling pretty good.

January 08, 2002

Launched: The Mercury Project. The site is no where near complete, but I need it... so may it function well.

Fun night and a late night. Now it is sleep time.

January 07, 2002

I accomplised a ton this weekend. I am still not finished; however, I am still proud of all I got done.

Found out yesterday, that my little sister will be getting married in February. I always knew that she would get married before me... I just never thought that it would happen this early in her life. I think it is insane to have a mariage certificate before you have a high school diploma... in fact, I would prefer that a college degree was present. I cannot do anything but wish her the best.

January 06, 2002

Saturday is gone... and how quickly it went. My list of things to do seems just as long... got to hurry it up today. I don't want to be doing this all week.

January 05, 2002

It is a miricle! My Palm Pilot has been healed... after months of being completely scrambled... it is now working. I am so very happy.

"Follow your dream... take one step at a time and don't settle for less. Just continue to climb. Follow your dream... if you stumble, don't stop and lose sight of your goal, press on to the top. For only on top can we see the whole view, can we see what we've done and what we can do. Can we then have the vision to seek something new... press on, and follow your dream."
Just cleaning out my room and found this.

Still trying to get back on track after the holidays... ick. Clean... clean.

49 logos found... I still have to recreate one... and I think I am done finding the logos for the logo section of my portfolio.

Had a Windows 2000 Server installation go bad... so I am off to breakfast.

January 04, 2002

I am still having problems with Apache on my server. It was been way too long since I have played around with a Linux machine... it is all feeling very foreign. Try and try again... hope to have it up by Monday... at least on my internal network.

Most design projects are on hold due to gathering materials for my portfolio... and the core coding that I am doing for some sites.

Also, I plan on doing a lot of work with Media Tongue this year. Trying to clear the path for some of their projects.

Time to shave and brush the teeth... and off to work. I am so glad that it is Friday.

Before heading off to sleep... I gathered up 36 logos that I have designed... I am currently gathering things to add to my portfolio. I know I am missing quite a few logos... and other designs that I have done. I am welcoming all reminders of work that I have done. I am having a harder time remembering what I ahve done than finding the work.

Sleepy times.

I cannot explain quite how I am feeling at the moment.

January 03, 2002

Long day at work. I finished just about three days worth of work in about seven hours. Things were flowing well and certain people were not interuping as they usually do.

I am going to have dinner, talk Ong into playing a game of cards, watch Friends, and finish my huge "to-do" list.

Still trying to get caught up from the holiday slacking (relaxing). Rush rush.

January 02, 2002

Swanky.

I am slacking again... darn me. I have just wasted the last 30 minutes looking at parts for a computer that I am never going to build. I so bug me.

Now... I am going to pay my bills... then do some cleaning... and maybe get caught up on some projects... and no more slacking.

I am having that tormenting first day of a new year. There is always so much that I want to change and do. The beginning of a new year is even worse.

I am walking around the house in a nearly confused daze. I don't know where to start. There is no beginning and no end... so where does one start?

I am going to start with a glass of wine, a notepad, and a pen. Tonight, I am going to sit down, relax, and figure out where I am on all levels... then I am going to start listing things out and start from there. Hopefully, it will be as easy as it sounds.

My general goal is: To be a better human. The rest is pretty open.

January 01, 2002

Made it through another year... wooo!
